What's this I feel at the end of the gas pedal travel?
I noticed it for the first time yesterday. When I push the gas pedal to the floor, if I push a bit harder, the pedal goes down even further. Is there some kind of switch down there? I was on my way home when I discovered it, and with the fires and all, I didn't want to be driving around too much getting ash all over my car and on my air filter, so I didn't get to test it that much. From what I did see though, it didn't seem to have any noticeable effect on acceleration, or the vtec engagement point.
Has anyone else ever noticed this w/their pedal? I felt around behind the pedal with my hand to make sure its back wasn't just sinking into the carpet or something, but I didn't find anything.

Your throttle is fully open and the cable taut when the pedal is about 1/4 inch above the little black stop on the floor. Your second push is stretching the cable until the pedal hits the stop on the floor.
This is surprising given the amount of cable slack that most people find at the throttle body. Tightening up this slack increases the amount of space between the pedal and the pedal stop. Personally, I took up some of the slack for better throttle response. But, I don't jam the pedal to the floor now.
The problem, I think, is that the cable end swedge is is placed too close to the throttle.
