the S2000 should trap anywhere between 99-102 in normal conditions.

I am by no means an expert or even that experienced with drag racing an S2000, but after 6 or 7 runs I was able to manage a 98.5mph trap and 2.0 60' on a bone stock AP2.
how did you launch? rpm's? clutch dropped or feathered? or throttle feathered? tire pressure?

I think I can get the trap speed up a little bit from that with better shifting. I don't think I can do more than maybe .1 better on the launch though (without drag radials or slicks).

I would say anything under 95mph at sea level definitely needs improvement.
A 2.0 60 is quite good,you should have been above 100.

Never feather the clutch,on a launch, you will fry it,just dump the F#%@&%g pedal, and feather the throttle to get the best traction.

On the strip,MPH.are an indication,of the power output of your car,and E.T.are an indication of your driving skills, generally speaking.
With good(+/-average)skills,your stock S2K,should be in the high 13's at 100-102 mph.

never feather the clutch on the S2k. all you'll get is a slipped and glazed over clutch.

I slip the clutch EVERY time. If you really want to get a good 60ft you dont wanna spin. i ran a 11.3 with a 1.9 60ft on stock S02s

Actually if you can muster a 2.0 out of some street tires you will almost never trap 100+. A good 60 foot and low ET usually yields lower trap speeds.

please dont give advice that does not pertain to the people asking. maybe in your situation where you can run 11's, yeah slipping the clutch works. i'm also betting you dont have a stock clutch or at least you have an aftermarket pressure plate. what YOU do in a launch does not affect 99% of other S2k owners since they can't run 11's. if you slip the clutch with the stock pp/disk, your 60' will be crappy, and you'll fry the clutch.

DO NOT SLIP THE CLUTCH in an S2k if you're n/a or have the stock clutch and pressure plate. if you do, you'll get nothing but slip, and you have a good chance of frying the clutch and glazing it over. the stock pressure plate in our car is not strong enough to clamp down on a super heated clutch that's hot from slipping.

Gimmee a hollar Iceman. I'll show you how to drive that thing in person.......... Seriously. I dragged my "S" for two years very regularly. I have two burned CD's of nothing but S2000 drag racing videos. Let me know if you wanna see them. I probably only live 15 minutes away from you.
