The dealerships in N. America can barely spell "S 2 0 0 0". Most of them still think this car has power steering fluid. They won't have even heard of a Type V. They wouldn't know a VSG from a hole in the ground.

You would be better off posting such a question in the Japanese (English speaking) forum.

I thought the variable ratio steering just changed the ratio with speed. So it does not take as much to turn the wheels in slower traffic, but much more at high speeds (to avoid twitchy high speed behavior).
