by the way AP2 has 8200rpm redline
there are also changes to transmission, differential, interior & exterior.

AP is Accounts Payable or Advanced Phyics. Nothing to do with S2000s.
AP1 is the CHASSIS design of the '00-'03 S2000s.
AP2 is the Chassis code for '04+ S2000s.
It does NOT denote the engine in the car. In the North American market the '04+ S2000s the F22C motor which is 2.2L and has an 8200RPM redline. However, in Europe and Asia the '04+ cars kept the 2.0L F20C motor that Revs to 9100RPM.
There were minor "tweaks" to the chassis for '04+. I don't know all of the specifics off the top of my head, but likely relate to the smaller sway bar, and larger wheels and tires.
