What's a ballPark figure.
Can someone give me an idea on how much to expect, ballpark figure, to paint an entire S2000. I'm not changing the color, it's staying the same. (Silverstone). I had one guy tell me about $4000, I thought that was outrageous considering there's not much car to paint.

To be honest, unless you have a hookup with a good bodyshop, most of them will charge $3000 + for a good quality job. There is always cheap places like mayco, but you get what you pay for.

I totally agree that you get what you pay for. My car really only needs the two bumpers painted and the passenger side fender. Well just a small piece of the fender. It lipped up from the tire hitting it. It's been fixed and prepped for painting. Now the other question would be, could they match the color if I got them to just paint those areas. The rest of the cars paint is in awesome shape. My is a 2000 so I'm not sure if the paint would really show by being dull. To me it's not dull, but if new paint was added it might show up.

When repairing certain parts, they usually blend it in. So if they paint your front bumper, they'd paint part of the hood and fenders so even if the paint is slightly off, you won't notice where the transition is.
With Silverstone, be sure to check that the paint looks good in the day and night. The stock paint turns really dark at night, and sometimes paint that matches is sunlight doesn't match at night!

it depends on where you live in calif perhaps same with you, in souther calif you can get a job done for less than northern calif...expect 3,000 plus depending on what needs to be take out or masked, parking lot dings?scratches, small dents...all add time. what i would do is take my car to three places, not speedy places that just paint cars, but body shops that have been around a while, they can give you an idea...if you go that way expect you will pay a little more than quoted as there are always things that come up.

Minimun $2k for a Mickey Mouse job. $4-$5k for a pro job where they paint all the jambs, trunk, majority of engine bay etc.

My berlina black had an incident (I'm guessing!) when the previous owner drove behind a truck with rocks or gravel, and rock chips are ALL OVER the bumper, fenders, back of the mirrors and front part of the hood. But anyways, every shop I would go to would tell me 3 grand (here in SoFla at least) Good luck!
