Seriously it has to happen sometime. Most likely the s2000 is on its last set of legs. While the rest of the auto industry is getting faster and better in technology and desgin espicially in the roadster market, Honda is getting left behind. Soon EVEN the base models of Z4 and the P car will not be competition. Most people agree that it won't be worth it for honda to up the HP on a s2000 and Honda most likely will not do this. A MY2010 version of the s2000 with 240hp!!
Basically you would end up with the NSX type of car with no major changes. Since they arne't going to upgrade past 240HP (not even any slight rumors of an upgrade outthere!!) then kill it before it becomes a joke so it can go out with a bang.
Would you be happy at this news? keep your s2k forever? Sell it for a higher price and buy something new?

I think I would be happy. I do not want this car to be produced for another 4-5 years with the same 240HP. When I look at the NSX, the only thing I really dislike is the fact that the car has been around for 14-15 years and is still under the 300HP mark.. especially for $100K. I don't plan on selling mine.. so even if they discontinued making them and the re-sell value went up I would still keep it.

I'd probably go make some soup for lunch if I were to find out right now (which I'll probably do anyway). Hopefully the resell values increase like they did for the Supra. My guess is they won't but thats ok, this car wasn't meant to be an investment, it was meant to be a toy.

As much as I'd love to have the last year made, I'd hate for the community to stop growing. Events are getting larger every year, just like the aftermarket. Of course, I know if Honda does make it for another year, they're bound to improve something since they haven't had a two year run on this car without changing anything. Then I would hate all the new ones with the fancy gadgets and tell the buyers their not real purists like us because theirs has traction control or whatever the upgrade might be.

Well, what else is there? boxters are too much $, miatas are too small, vettes are too big. BMW's dont do much for me. and 240HP seems to move the s2k along real nice. more HP will only cost more$ this is the best two seat, open top sports car for the money. and its a honda to boot. maybe a new body style? I think It will become a legend one day. I wont part with mine, unless I get newer one.

I wouldn't care... Cars come and go, and life is too short to dwell on just one. I'd drive it for a while longer, then eventually sell it and get something else, which is what I'm going to do anyway.
That having been said, I do think the S2000 occupies a nice niche price- and performance-wise. You'd be hard pressed to find another roadster that offers the same performance at the same price. The only one that comes to mind is the 350Z.
When it comes to price and performance, I think the main competition comes from performance sedans like the Evo and STi. Those cars have a huge advantage in practicality, and no roadster is ever going to compete favorably there. IMO, the future of cars like the S2000 hinges on how popular those cars become.
But I'd have to agree that if you take price out of the equation, then the competition has certainly gotten much stiffer!
