What would you do
Hello fellow members. I bought my 2nd S on July 4th. I racked up roughly 1000 miles within 11 days of owning it. I commute 100 miles round trip to work. The original plan was to drive the S on the weekends and use my 2002 Civic to commute to work. But ever since I got the S I been driving it around everywhere and the civic been collecting dust. I feel bad for racking up so much miles within a short period of time. So what would you do?? Park the S and drive it on the weekends ? Or use it as a daily driver??

Do you get snow in the winter time where you live? If so, do you plan on driving it in the snow?
If you plan to drive it three seasons of the year, I would sell the civic (unless it's paid off) and buy a ~$2,000 winter beater that wouldn't be plated/insured until old man winter rolls around.
I drive my S 365 days a year, even through 5 inches of snow. I can't imagine not driving it every day.

I have 2 commuter cars. I have a 2002 Tacoma for all around utility, it gets 27 mpg, comfortable, and is in good shape with 78K miles. I have (original owner) 94 TBird with 135K which is my true airport car (has cover, employee lot) .
I prefer to drive the other cars in rush hour traffic and into crummy areas of town as they can be the sacraficial lamb.
I prefer to drive my S when it is fun to drive. Weekend, some destination in mind. Why be in bumper to bumper traffic with a high likelhood of getting hit by some texting idiot?
Keep the Civic and go back to driving for utility. That is what it is made for. The S is made for driving. Real driving. Driving for the enjoyment of driving.

As long as you keep up proper maintenance, work preventative maintenance and drive the car appropriately, mileage doesn't matter unless you are thinking of selling. Drive it, enjoy it and keep it in great working order and you won't regret it.

While this is true, when a car's interior starts to wear out it gets expensive to replace and, at least for me, greatly affects the enjoyment of the car. Sitting on worn out seats - surrounded by worn out trim pieces and carpeting bugs me. I'd save it for days when you can truly enjoy it. Driving the S after a short hiatus is more fun than driving it all the time.
