Yes, ideally (and really) we "car guys" should be thinking about investing in garage space rather than thinking about trading cars everytime something new comes along. This is, I know, a difficult thing to do. It's just more fun to get a new car than to build or buy more garage space. My garage is 20' X 50' and has three cars and a pickup in it right now. If I got to work and cleaned out some of the crap, I could get a fifth car in it, if the car were not too large. Fully cleaned out, the garage might hold six cars.

I know this guy who was building a house a few years back, and he included a six car garage. I asked him why, and he said it was for his car collection. I asked him what he had in his collection and he said "right now, nothing, because I haven't built the garage for it yet." A few years later, I added my big garage, remembering this conversation. Now, we both wish our garages were bigger.

When I get to age 35 and need a huge luxurious sedan and more room and comfort. So I guess more prestige and room?

Too expensive, need to save money on car payments / insurance.

All these.
That's bizarre.

It would seem that those are not realistic together.

To "need" more prestige and to move upscale while not being able to afford the insurance and car payment of the current vehicle just seems like an unrealistic expectation.

I would love to say that I would never give up my S but the truth is... If me and my wife were to ever have trouble with bills and it came down to it. I would do it to preserve our relationship. I hate saying that but its the truth. Hopefully it will never come to that though
