what to use to remove melted door guard adhesive?

Default what to use to remove melted door guard adhesive?

yup, got all that goo that the hot summer hear melted. tried bug and tar remover, didnt do diddly. dont want to try acetone. dont think goop-off might help either. any suggestions?

I've had good success with something called "Goo Gone." It comes in small bottles and is yellowish in color. I've seen them at Home Depot, but I'm sure other places carry them.

3M Adhesive remover.......works great your paint will be fine i use this on cars all the time

Ditto on 3M adhesive remover. Also, you might want to have some "hand polish" (the first step in detailing that contains mild abrasives but no wax) on hand to really finish the job.

3M adhesive remover is probably your best bet as it's designed to be safe for automotive paint. I think it's even available at Walmart. If you don't have any you can also use WD-40. You'll need some car wash soap or similar to get the WD-40 off.

yeah...as a detailer, we use the 3m....you will see the tars melted by itself...
