I was just wondering...are all 93 octane fules the same? or are some better? I have been using Amoco mostly because its clear... hehe...just wondering what you guys put in your cars.

Good question, and one that is sure to illicit a very in-depth response. The whole gasoline and octane thing is simple, but which brand is the "best" is always up to some debate since most top companies use the same detergents. It's too bad 94 is no longer available in my area...a little slower burn never hurt anyone...hehe.

My philosophy is to find the cleanest, "name-brand" gas station (I always used Chevron), and if you never have any problems with the gas they serve, then use it for every fillup. For the S2K, ALWAYS use the highest octane grade they've got. The car will love you for it.

Another rule: NEVER NEVER use gas stations like U.S.A. or Fred's Gas and Mini Market....and only use Arco if you're really desperate.

I'm not from California originally - any other gas stations I should generally avoid besides ARCO? How's 76?

I always buy from Mobil, Texaco, and Sunoco!!

You can never be absolutely sure what you are getting. For example, Shell delivers more than 70% of the fuel in the market area where I live. In other words when you go to one of the other brands, you may well be getting Shell!

here in Vegas, and im guessing everywhere else, ALL gas is brought to a central location, then each Co.( chevron, Mobil, 76, and etc) go get there gas then add there additives to the gas...
so all gas is the same, its the additives that are different... and who knows which is better?
