Does it say hypoid gear fluid?
Yep. As far as I remember it did.
(and its SAE 90, not 75W-90, but thats ok beacause manual states Hypoid SAE 90 GL-5 only)

That's not technically Honda's automotive diff oil.
Ohh.. ?
But Honda = Honda to me

It's actually a motorcycle gear fluid from the motorcycle division
The part number = 08251-999-100HE and via Google I found a number of PDF documents in Spanish, Swedisch, French and Danisch that might suggest its from the Honda Marine department as there were other marine oils & greases and what not in those pdf's.
It is listed in those pdf's as: mineral transmission oil with quality EP additives for use in hypoid transmissions that require EP oils. (as far as I understand French)
And it comes in 1 liter bottles.
Or the Marine department borrowed it too from the motorcycle depertment.
But I found no hits suggesting that.
So now I have to choose between what you tell me or what I found

Hence the reason car dealerships don't carry it.
Lucky for me my dealership does. Shows they know what they do to service S2000's properly.

So technically there is no honda diff fluid in their automotive division.
I guess so. But Honda = Honda to me.

This is the same around the world.
I have nothing to say about this but I just had to use this last piece of text too, to make this a xviper kinda reply

No hard feelings I hope
Btw: I promise not to post in this thread anymore

Well it's great you found a legitimate honda gear oil. Not a single dealership in North America has access to one.

MTL is a 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil. MT-90 is a 75W90 GL-4 Gear Oil so it's obviously slightly heavier than MTL.
