What is that turbine sound you hear at startup?

Could also be your fuel pump priming. With FI applications and upgraded pumps it's much more noticable.

Highly doubtful since the sound occurs AFTER startup.

Seriously, that wooshing sound is definitely your air pump. As someone mentioned, the idea is to light off your catalytic converter earlier. BTW, my understanding is that the MY06+ model doesn't have this.
