I just bought my S from Carmax in Memphis in February...same exact deal, just screwed the damn plate holder right into the bumper.

If your in the Tulsa area Barron and hart is a good place to take it. I had an accident a few months ago and they did a great job on my car. I did ask about filling the emblem holes and they wanted an extra 250. Even though they were already replacing the bumper.. i opted to fill the holes with vinyl plugs painted with touch up paint..

I don't think you're nitpicking. Yes, the car is used, but Carmax promises a car that doesn't feel used.

Thorough reconditioning of every used car

We thoroughly inspect and recondition every used car we sell, so you get a car that doesn't look or feel used.
I think they'll cover the cost, but I'm eager to find out for sure.

Yea, I would have just accepted the car as is but, I can see your point and really don't understand Carfax's. Their motto along with the relative minor repair should be fixed by them if (for no other reason) then to maintain their reputation. Ask for a corporate number and remind them that you want the car and you also want it fixed.

I understand where you're coming from, but it so minor. I guess based on the deal and quality you got for the vehicle, is it worth to look for another car that meets your expectations minus the drilled holes? That is one way to look at it. Probably best you can do is threaten to return the vehicle if they don't fix it, but I would just keep it if it is everything you were looking for minus the drilled holes. You never know how long it would take to find another one to your liking. Anyways, good luck with the situation.

I bought mine new and it had a bit of scratching there. Not that much, but still some. It's a poor design in that way.

You can have a good shop fix it for a few hundred, max. I probably would, and I'd ask Carmax to pay for it, but I don't know that I'd expect them to do it.

You are nitpicking. This is not concidered damaged goods. The fix is easy and to be honest I would have expected to see holes even if I remove MY licence plate. The car was sold with a licence plate and the dealer really has nothing to do with the purchase. If your after anyone to fix this it is the person that you handed the cheque over to.

I understand how you feel.Im fussy for that kind of stuff. For sure I would try to have them fixed it but I don't think I would try hard because there's a good exuse to shave the holes right there.

Very nice S by the way. For some reason, red S2k are sexy as hell.
