Totally agree here. There could be an additional 2500 in unseen damanges. It's totalled!
MPO..... I wouldn't drive that any more than I could throw it!

I was thinking of getting a lawyer to get it totalled, but that'll cost some money and I'm leasing it anyway. WHAT? Some of you may ask...lease? But why...well, looking at the situation I'm in now, I don't have to worry about the resale value
We shall see....

Just cuz you call a lawyer and ask for legal advice, dont mean you have to pay. I didnt. I called my insurance and told them I talked to the lawyer and what they said. Within 30 mins I got the call back that it was totaled. I onky had $18k worth of damage when they stopped...on a car that they paid out $25K for!! It dont hurt to try!!

It looks repairable but I'm wondering if the repairs described would affect the integrity of the monocoque chassis.

I think what Muz is saying is the impact may have transferred enough energy into the chassis to cause it to twist. The S basically has an x-frame going right through the middle of the car. If this is compromised the car will be screwed, and I don't think I would be cheap to fix, given that the car is built onto it.
