They're gonna pull out the engine and then replace the entire front cage! But I took it to a Honda dealership and I feel confident in the guy working on it. Seems the other two cages (the rest of the body) is fine, but they have to reweld a new front cage. The top goes up and down no problem.
Both airbags went off. I was doing 25 and hit the front left bumber with someone doing 30...we didn't see each other until impact. (Didn't even have time to THINK the words OH SHIT>>>>)

Well TJS, I'll tell you what I just told someone else around your area....ask the insurance how much the damage is so far. Contact a lawyer and see what their opinion is on it and if they would total it out. All it takes is for your lawyer (or even you letting them know you talked to a lawyer and want it totaled out) to give them a call and let them know.
I got this totaled because of that:
it had $18K damage and we told them we wouldnt make payments on a car that should be salvaged. They totaled it out 30 mins later after telling them what the lawyer said.
I wouldnt want to make payments on a new car that's been re-welded back together and the engine removed. It'll never be the same car again. I dont care how good of a shop it is!!
Sorry to hear about your car. I only wish you the best of luck.

Looking at that car, i would say it isn't a total. Working in a body shop i've seen cars a lot more mangaled than your car get fixed. What everyone is forgeting is that the value of the car is around $32k. Most insurance companies total out a car at 80% of the value which is $25,600. That car has a lot less damage than that, i would say $18-20k at most.
Sorry to see that, man....good luck
