Default What are my options on getting the Oem S2000 Key

When i bought my car it came with 2 keys, a Black key and a Grey Valet Key. I never got the Silver Key that says S2000 on it. I have searched for a DIY but i didn't find any, i am sure this has been done before. If i buy the Master Silver S2000 key and have the dealership laser cut the key. Can i cut out the transponder from the Valet Key and put it in the New S2000 Key? Can the Silver S2000 key be opened up to put the transponder in without ruining the key?

Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't mind knowing this. Mine came with 1 completely worn off silver S2000 key, 2 new regular black Honda keys, and 1 grey valet.

I want a fresh new S2000 specific key

Any idea where to get a new S2000 blank key?

The new key should come with a transponder

This may also be a dumb question as the keys appear the same on the outside, but that key lists '06-'09. Did they change something on the transponders that would make it incompatible with say my '05?

i only got 1 original silver key from the seller so i wouldn't know...i wanted to get a new one too as a spare but it seems $200 is way too much for a key

I think you will ruin the key. The only recent DIY I remember is this one although he used a flip retractable key as a replacement.

I've seen the original key with the S2000 logo. The silver finish fades after a while.

So can i take out the transponder from the valet key and buy the Silver S2000 Key. Then take the S2000 key to the dealership have it cut and then take the key apart and place the transponder from the Valet key in it.

Yes to the above, as long as you can manage to keep your new key intact and without any damage. If you do, please let us know because I can't remember anyone doing it, unless I'm very much mistaken.
