Your understanding of the dual exhaust system that comes originally equipped on our cars is misinformed.

-Wrong. The function is to reduce exhaust noise.

-Wrong. The reason for there being two mufflers is to HELP the performance of the car while achieving a desired exhaust noise level. Had Honda chosen to use a single, there is no way to get it to flow as free as the dual while achieving the same noise level.

Why do you think single exhausts with only a tiny straight thru muffle make only 3-5hp on our cars?

This topic is dumb. I wonder why this forum is starting to look more and more like Honduh-tech everyday. This topic is dumb. I wonder why this forum is starting to look more and more like Honduh-tech everyday.

The true definition of "rice" is simple. When a person says that something or someone is "ricey" or what have you...he/she is saying "I have no life, I am a loser, I like to make fun of people, I wish I could get laid".

Truth be told though, it's a bash on all Japanese cars, modded or not, simply because they are made by Japanese companies. But the ironic thing is that most of the people who call something ricey own imports....go figure.
You're just wrong.

I've never once heard someone call a stock Japanese car ricey. It's not at all about what he's driving, it's about what he tacks onto the thing.

Somewhere around here, a guy owns a base Neon with a double-decker aluminum wing, huge muffler, flame logos running down the side, and two chrome rims (back wheels are black steel). This is rice, even though it comes from Detroit.

Whenever I see someone on an import forum bashing people who use the term "rice", it makes me believe at some point in the past they owned a riced-out car.

notice the ricer citation lists using a dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder as a ricer offense. since the S2000 comes with a functional dual exhaust, that one should be ignored. lol

I think in the begining "rice" or "ricer" referred to Imports as you mentioned but I think you will find that domestic cars now a days can also fall under the heavily modded but in poor subjective taste....

I think it has more to do with a type of behavior rather than a type of car that anyone drives. Yesterday, saw a two "ricers" (a Mitsubishi and a nasty looking half primer/half ugly paint Neon) street racing down a local highway, well in excess of any reasonable speed, much less the speed limt, proceeded to run a van full of a family off the road, (almost into the jersey wall) and gave me the finger (the Mitsu) when they went by and as I was trying to get out of their way. Again, I think it's behavior issue, rather then anything else. However, I could have cited them for about 72 violations using the ticket posted above! That's a great ticket!!!
