None that I now of - look in the business section for direct distributors, or at www.amsoil.com - you can become a preferred customer and get wholesale prices - that is what i do, and they have a warehouse near me, which really saves me on shipping.

It is not conflicting if I have no knowledge of it - I can only refer to the filters I have access to - in the US, the Honda filters (whoever makes them) are much better made than the Fram filters sold under the Fram name.

Well, it is possible that Fram makes them to a higher standard per Honda spec, or Honda has cheapened them. I am going to open a few and examine them - if I see cheapification, i will defintely go to a Purolator Pure One or a Mobil 1. Filters are important.

What has your experience been -seen any with gasket failures, case denting/bulging from pressure, stuck open bypasses, etc? Ever cut one open?

In this month's "Sport Tuning" (a motorcycle magazine) there is a lengthy and comprehensive testing of several motor oils. They rate oils in several different areas (ie. acid absorption, moly content, etc.). Their conclusion is that different oils rate high in different areas and that oils intended for motorcycles are different that auto oils.

i have rarely seen any problems with the OEM honda filters(usa and canada-made). just make sure you oil up the gasket and you shouldn't have any problems with the filter.
the only problem i can think of is where one guy took off the old filter and the gasket was still attached to the engine, and that caused him to double-gasket the new filter and caused a leak. i dont know if you could say it was the mechanics fault for not checking or the oil filter itself.
