Have you changed your timing chain tensioner?
not yet. plan to get valves adjusted and TCT replaced. previous owner used regular mobil 1 synthetic which is not very high quality. numerous reports on here on tct issues and mobil1.

I guess the following are recommended for warm climates:

Amsoil10w30 (signature or 2000 series)
Redline10w30
Motul 10w30

I checked the local Wallmart and none of these were available. Can I get any of these locally in the US?
Do any of the auto parts stores carry any of these oils?

I drive year round in Chicago.

Mobil 1 full syn 0w-30. Tough to find sometimes, but it makes cold starts much easier than 10w-30.

not available at walmart or local auto part chain stores. check their websites for dealers near you. you can also order online from redline and amsoil website if you wish to. motul is available thru one of their online vendors.

That should hopefully get rid of the ticking noise!

I buy AMSOIL directly from their website. Local auto shops & Walmarts don't carry them. My buddy uses Motul in his WRX. Again, ordered online.

I checked out the Amsoil website. The only available signature series is 0w30. Is 10w30 available anywhere else?
