ok i gotta question. i have 51k on my S, cuz i bought it used with 41k. anyways, i think its always been taking regular motor oil but would something go wrong if i switched to synthetic? and also, what kind oil should i be puttin in this car cuz i only wanna use the best oil and what kind of oil should i use for the tranny cuz i havent changed that yet either. also, i dont have the manual, so does anyone know how to change the trans oil. thanks alot guys.

You can switch to synthetic any time after 10k miles. That said, 10k is a guideline and not a rule.

I put Redline in my tranny and didn't like the cold weather results. Once warm, it shifted like butter. People have been pleased replacing with the Honda tranny oil.

Mobil 1 is fine for the engine. You could use Red Line or the Honda stuff for the trans. For the rear-end you could use RL, Honda or Mobil.

Do a search and you will find this has been discussed many times.

I think the whole 10k-20k waiting period thing is a bunch of hooey.

RedLine 5w30 since 10k miles. My S stopped burning oil at 10k miles.

ok redline sounds cool...yeah my cars been burnin oil too alot and i didnt understand why, so i guess i gotta get better oil? yeah i also need a damn owners manual too, so good lookin out on that
