Coupes are lighter, more comfortable, cheaper, and have stiffer chassis than convertibles.
. . . AND you can hear the damn radio.

You dont have a clue what you are talking about. The Z coupe is no faster than an S2000, and the Z convert is noticeably slower than an S2000. Make the S2000 a coupe and it is almost certain to run circles around any stock coupe Z.
And is the Z convert not MORE expensive than the S2000?

Biobanker, we're not comparing the Z to the S. We're seeing why the "pretend" S2000 Coupe wouldn't be made, and my reasoning is that there is too much competition, namely the Z and the RX8. Now, realistically there are alot of other cars that compare as well, but the Z is the most closely matched comparison I can think of as far as performance and price.
i do like to think I know what I'm talking about. I have two friends with Z's. I drive and S and have alot of friends with S2000's. I drive my car on the track and have seen lap times of stock S2000's vs. stock Z's and I've had a few fun encounters with Z's on the street (ok, it's true I suck at drag racing). However, from everything I gather the Z is ATLEAST a VERY VERY VERY close competitor to the S2000 in performance (accelleration/lap times). But I believe it to be the faster car given the average driver. There is probably some gung-ho crazy driver who could squeeze the S2000 performance to the edge by driving at the edge of disaster, but I doubt 99% of the people on this board can do that and with 3 yrs of track experience I honestly still can't do it either.
there is definitely NO WAY the stock S will "run circles" around a stock Z. NO WAY.
I haven't read mag review because honestly alot of them are bogus marketing lies anyway. I don't bench race. I call it like I see it, the Z coupe at under $27k is a STEAL. An S2000 coupe at $33k would be a RIP OFF.
That's just my opinion. *flame suit on*
