.... or you could go FI with your current motor and make the same power (or lots more) with a much smaller headache.
Now a Lotus Elise with an F20, that's an engine swap.

Yeah it would be except the Elise needs a FWD style motor. I know they sell kits to install the K20 and by extension you could fit a K24. I guess if you could mate the F20 to some kind of transaxle it would work.

Great input, everyone. I've pretty much narrowed it down to stuffing an LS7 (or LS9 if they make it available as a crate engine) into the car. I estimate that the project will take me about 2-3 years considering the costs and customization involved. My overriding goal will be a maximum +10% weight increase and 50-50 weight distribution.
And to those of you asking why I would consider doing something this extreme, possibly "messing with" the nature of the car, I can only say because I want my S to be mine - not everyone else's. I'm not a purist, even though I love the car the way it is today. Anyone reading S2KI can easily perceive that we all want our cars to be OURS - however mild or wild the mods. Otherwise, there would be no market for $2000 Amuse exhausts, $1000+ J's racing intakes, and $4000+ Mugen CF hardtops. All of the stock items that these replace were purpose-built for mass production S2000s from the Honda factory. Thankfully, owners are not content to have a car like everyone else's, so they demand, and purchase, anything and everything to make the car their own. It's art. It's a lifestyle. It's why I love this community and the diversity of its members.
I've finally found a hobby that I love enough to keep me working at it into the wee hours of the night!

I saw a GTO swap for sale for $6k. 400 HP with the 6 speed and ECU. 14K miles. My guess is you'll turn the S2K into an inreliable POS but, if that floats your boat, go for it.
RX-7 to chevy swaps are pretty common.

Man that's an idea. Drop my F20C into the 240SX I have parked out front. Hmm, has it been done? The mounts don't look out of this world different and I really like the way the 240's built.
Maybe I can find a 240 with a blown motor? Strange as it may seem, around here ,240's are far rareer than S2000's are. Exhaust is on the wrong side. Still the KA24's a pretty wide motor.
Will an F20 swap into a miata?
