in order to run 12.3's with only a 108 trap speed, im guessing you'll need a 60ft time of at least a 1.50-1.60 range.

hi rev clutch drop, rear end destruction, sure, you will take off a few more 10ths of a second, just not worth it on stock drivetrain if you ask me.

as stated so many times before, if drag racing is your thing, if you feel the need for speed in this car, you need turbo or nitrous. the powerband with the SC is just not well suited for this application.

have you ever taken your car to the track?
did once bone stock with not even 2000 miles on the car and ran a14.7 then 14.4 then 14.3 all with a 2.3-2.4 60 fts. i got the worst 60 ft with the 14.3 to. 7500 dumps. lots of wheel spin and still new with the car. it was the first and only time launching my car ever and never been to a drag strip before so i was happy with that. i have not taken it the track with all the work i have done now because i don't want to blow my diff. even on the street i have not raced from a stop because of that reason. if i go and race anybody i go for pulls.

ok, so you took your car to the track stock, got average times, now you have a supercharger + other mods, have not taken to the track, done some messing around on the street with others who claim to have done high 12's (somewhere....), and never a standing stop, 1/4 mile run even in street racing terms, so you are now are 12 second car?

ok, sure....

I took my 3800lb 2003 Cobra to the track..... it dyno'd at 420rwhp the week after i went.... i ran 12.441@116mph....... smacking the rev limiter in 3rd gear......... that was on stock tires and a 2.0 for my '60 time......I plan to get some drag radials and go back in the spring.

I don't think S2000's can handle the driveline lash... ask "Wesmester" who broke his rear diff/ axles at the strip in his S2000 (i think it had a supercharger)......

ok, sure that i even said i am a 12 second car all i said is that
i have pulled cars that went high 12's with my comptech supercharger with aftercooler on the few cars that i have raced.
and i know they do high 12's becuase they are my friends and i have watch them at the track when they are running there cars.

Common, you put all that stuff on and aren't going back to the track!??! I can't find any sense in that! I will sympathize with those concerned about breaking parts, every time I launced my previous 3000GT VR4 I had to keep my fingers crossed that a transfer case or transmission was going to stay alive during the AWD launch of an 11 second car. I had I streak of 2 months on IDRC drag circuit that cost me almost $20,000 in driveline components! BUT if you put parts on your car-RUN IT!!!

I'm guessing my s/c made at least a 1 sec. improvement in potential 1/4 mile times...but I'll have to keep guessing, b/c I don't really like drag racing and don't want to risk the damage to my powertrain.

It'll leave a N/A S2000 in the dust, though...that's for sure!

lots of sense. better things to spend my money on right now then a diff because i broke it drag racing. i did not get my car just to race other cars or drag race. i got it for me. i have raced other cars but not many. i find it more fun and less pressure to just beat on my car around town and going for night time cruises.

perhaps i need to clarify, i was not busting on you saying that your friends were not doing 12.x AT THE TRACK, i was saying that comparing their track, 1/4 mile times with standing start, to rolling runs on the street, over unspecified distances at that, are pointless.

our car has better than average performance once moving, off the line it is poor.

i took it to the drag strip 1 time, did 4 runs, none of tem with aggressive launches, it has been to summit point (road circuit) about 10 times at 5 20 minute session apiece, both N/A and SC. for me, that is the type of racing that this car is better suited for.
