I don't care anymore. I just park in the closest spot to the entrance of wherever I am going and I don't go over my car with a fine tooth comb every day looking for dents. Out of curiosity, I just checked my car and it looks like I only have one dent for driving it two years. Sometimes it just seems like the more you worry, the more dented your car gets. Then again my car is just a neon.

for me, it don't matter what kinda car it is.

If I OWN it, I sure hell don't want anybody damaging my property. No matter how minor.

If you saw somebody acting carelessly around your neon and then create a nice scratch.

Would you say to yourself, it's just a neon
or would you kick some azz.

man i have to agree with you on this one. i try not to be like this but i cant help but be pissed off getting new dents. i have a 1985 toyota corolla with rust spots and i STILL park at the end where no one will give me dents! anyway, i used to have a beater celica convertible (yes, i love convertibles that much) and i still treated it the same way i treat my S today. park in the corners where no one will hit me.

I don't know if you have a walmart in cali, however I was at walmart the other day picking up some car washing stuff and came across a product that was EXTREMELY goofy, but seemed outrageously effective at protecting you from door dings (if you have a clean car of course, wouldn't want to stick something on a dirty door). Its a rubber mat that sticks magnetically to your door. Its rather large in surface area (about 1ft x 3ft). Like I said, it does look kinda goofy but to protect your doors its worth it IMO. I'm sure they have them at Target as well.

Do what I did........................find a girlfriend that has a handicap placard!!! Now I get to park up close AND those spaces are HUGE!!! I can park and other cars are soooo far away that the biggest FUV door can't reach me. I got lucky on this one.

I used to park far away and yes people would congregate. It also helps if you angle the car within your respective spot. Helps to distance yourself from door-swings.
