I usually try to park at the right side of the end of the row, so that the only way a door ding can happen is if the car next to you has a passenger and is parked close to you. I usually don't mind parking far and walking extra knowing the chances of door dings are minimal (but not inevitable).

typically my car only goes to school and home and when i go somewhere with the gf i try to pick the biggest spot at the end of the lot... in a pretty damn big empty lot.

on thing that totally pisses me off is that this dodge intrepid that parked next to me is a piece of shit car thats not even worth the down payment that i put on my car.

regarding parking the far right side: this works... except i'd rather risk the driver door because drivers are typically responsible adults... passengers can be children that carelessly swing the door open

I always put my passenger side in harms way. At least the ding guy only has to work one side AND I dont have to see it when i get in the car.

Yeah, it's always the same... if you park far away, someone will park next to you. If there isn't anything available far away then the next best thing in my eyes is to try and find a spot next to a car that is obviously as well cared for as my own.

Is there a law against double parking? Just double park if you have to.
