Picked the car up on March 1. Wind chill was in the negative numbers but put the top down and turned the heat up. Drove for about an hour (totally fell in love with the car) went home and read the manual. Couldn't stop looking at it in the garage

I signed the papers around 9pm. Drove the 100+ miles home with the top up because it was Feb. I was a little nervous on the way home because a woman in a Blazer came behind from nowhere and began to pass me on the interstate then slowed and pulled along side glancing at the car. She stayed side by side with me for at least 30 miles before turning off (later saw her face and discovered she was very cute)! When I got home I kept peeking into the garage blinking and saying to myself "Is there REALLY an S2000 in my garage? I can't believe it!" A life long dream fulfilled and my first new car. Spent the first few days reading the manual and driving my beater to work.

Both the stares/on-lookers/stoplight comments and the Xenon headlights took a few weeks to get used to!

I finished up the paperwork at 11 PM and had to be at work by 6:30 AM the next day. Drove it home, parked it and went to sleep. Now the next night.....

I had the car home by noon on Sunday (a year ago yesterday!). My wife and I took a ride along Pacific Coast Highway. Came home, read the manual, went out to the garage about 15 times just to look.

The next day, I left for a 3 day business trip. The longest 3 days I've ever! I still get really excited every morning thinking about driving to work.

Actually drove it to my parents house from the dealership since my townhouse complex was spraying for termites that weekend. First thing my Dad said was, why'd you buy another impractical car (my other car is a 93 Prelude). Of course he was wondering what kind of car it was too, since he'd never seen one before.

picked it up at night... drove 50 miles home, top down with my young daughter in the passenger seat (she insisted on the ride- smart girl!). tried to keep the speed down since she was with me and it was an unfamiliar car. immediately visited several friends in the neighborhood. read the owners manual. tried to sleep... got to really drive it the next day! (btw, thanks for bringing back those memories)

After all the hub-bub at the dealership. Put the top down and drove home. We dropped our other car off and went out for a drive on a perfect California evening. Driving through a neighboring town they were having a early Hot August Nights with the streets full with cars
and people. As we crept along we heard and got lots of compliments "Nice." "What kind of
car is that?", "Wow, look at that car", lots of stares and thumbs up.

Once we got back home and in the garage I pulled off the front plate and sat in the car and
read the manual checking out everything. My wife went to bed and got up hours later to
find me still in the garage checking out the S2. She laughed at me cause I was just staring
at it. It was hard to believe it was mine and in my garage at long last. You guys know what I

I drove the first S2000 (silver/black)the 500 miles home from Napa Valley on September 29, 1999.

My wife and I drove the second S2000 (silver/red) the 690 miles home from El Paso on October 8, 1999.

Both long rides on very smooth, fast roads! I must admit that we did have to put the top up once through Arizona. Fortunately we have never driven the cars with the top up again!

Got scared!

Had eaten a bad burger for lunch just before.

Got the car around 2 and was off spinning in the twisties at 3.

As I was beginning to enjoy the turns, I started to get nauseus (sp?). I was thinking that the smell of leather with the stiff suspension was going to do a job on my generally sensitive digestion. Started to freak that I would not be able to handle this car.

Fortunatly, the burger blew by in a day or two, and I've loved the car and it's feel ever since.

Dan
