Also remove the two hooks for the seatback accessory net. They push into the seat when it is all the way back and rub/squeek.

AND

Take a small piece of velcro (fuzzy) with adhesive backing and place it on the upper corner of the driver's seat, directly below where the seatbelt lays. Instead of trying to "lube" a seatbelt (not sure how messy that will be or how much dirt that will attract), simply cover that one spot under the belt. You'll never see it and..................no more rub/squeek.

Removing those hooks and replacing the screw is a good thought.

Using a soap solution shouldn't be messy or attract dirt, but I'd be very hesitant to put any other lubricant on the belt. Especially since there's a chance it'll touch my clothes. The soft sticky is a definite solution as well.

it's squeeking, because your leather seat is rubbing against plastic interior. 1+1=??
how incredibly helpful. i would think someone with the spelling pet peeves like you have would know how to spell squeaking.

my '00 plastic behind the seat squeaks too, but it doesn't seem to be because there is friction between the seat and the plastic; it comes with pressure against the plastic. anybody know a way to cure this?

Don't put pressure on the plastic.

try putting one of those mouse traps under the seat. the squeeking might stop after that. but be sure to check the trap after the squeeking stops because if you don't, the squeeking complaint will be replaced with a stinky smell complaint.

my theory is that theres a mouse living in your car. the squeeking you hear is the mouse cheering when you v-tack it. because we dont comprehend mouse speak, all we hear is squeeks. in reality it's the mouse calling you to redline the next gear.

whats that you say? you hear the squeking even when you're just putting around at 3K?
well, agian thats the mouse. this time he's yelling at you to slide your seat up a bit cause he needs some freeking leg room too. it's kinda cramp behind the driver seat with it pushed all the way back.

good luck and spay and neuter your pets.

You might be 6'3 but I'm pushing 300 pounds and my seat doesn't make a sound.

I feel that there is enough ability to fine tune the position of the seat to keep it from hitting the plastics but apparently others can't...

it's more a matter of needing the space front to back, not side to side. in order to not touch the plastic behind the seat i'd have to sit at a 90 degree angle. maybe i have disproportionately long legs, i dunno. the pressure hasn't always caused it to make the noise. i wonder if i could take the panel off and put some dynamat or something behind it...

Well, I'm close to the age of the OP (64), but nowhere close to 300 lbs. Just to see what the OP has been talking about I took my '01 NFR (just like the OP's) and tried to reproduce his problem. I couldn't get it to happen. Now, this does not mean that the OP doesn't have the problem. Because I keep my seats (even the backs) well conditioned, and use 303 on the plastic parts of the interior (even the hard plastic behind the seats.) Somebody above jokingly said to use KY jelly -- which may just be he right idea with the wrong product.

My suggestion for the OP would be to so treat and condition these parts. If the squeek persists, it may just be somewhere in the seat track mechanism.
