What is causing the squeek behind the drivers seat

Default What is causing the squeek behind the drivers seat

Every time I drive on the highway the seat rubs against the plastic behind the drivers seat. It is getting very annoying. I can't move the seat forward because of my size. I tried applying pressure to the plastic at various places, but there was no squeeking whatsoever. How do I go about eliminating this? Surely I'm not the only one to have this issue.

Get velcro tape and tape the soft side to the plastic where the seat marks are.

it's squeeking, because your leather seat is rubbing against plastic interior. 1+1=??

You should be able to move the seat back up on notch (not the bucket) which will not impact your leg room. This may look like a large gap when you're not sitting in it but once you sit back it will move and close the gap. If you start narrow gap, your weight will push it right into the plastic.

Other solutions would be clear rubber tabs they sell as replacement "feet." Go to your local Office Depot and look around for random things.

Also make sure it's not your seatbelt squeaking on the leather.

A possible solution would be to lubricate the area where your seat touches the plasitc behind it.

MY NEW 2005 S2000 Has the annoying seat belt rubbing noise too. comes and goes according to temp i guess. my 2004 s2000 never did it though. is there a fix for the seat belt rubbing noise? i am about ready to swap front seats between the 04 and 05!! let me know...todd

I put some lotion on where the seatbelt is rubbing on the leather, and that seem to quiet it down a bit.

but ultimately dealing with the seatbelt itself fixes the problem. put some lube on the seatbelt.

It's in the owner's manual. Lubricate the belt with a soapy solution.
