What bad things have people said about your S?

I've owned my other car, an 18-yr old BMW, since new and when told that I got a new car and it's a "Honda S2000", the typical response was:
"A Honda what? Why would you go from a BMW to a Honda?"
Most people who've seen it in person love it though. Only once did I get the "Is that a Miata?" from a woman from my parking garage.

really...i got that too.
traded 99 M3 for the s2000. People at dealership thought I was nuts when I said i prefer the S over the M.

Wife calls it a girls car, hates riding in it. She prefers my 997 or my Tundra truck. I can't blame her on the Honda. We live at the beach and since the POS top latch has broken again (what kind of fvcktard designs the latch with a crucial part made out of plastic) I just leave the top down all the time. Fvcking morons at Honda ! Since the top is down all the time as should be on a ragtop, some fvcking genius at Honda said let's build the car with cheap rat shlt leather that dries out ,you have to waste time treating, and the added bonus you get to burn your a$$ everytime you get in the car in the summer.

For what it's worth: Of course leather in a convertible is going to dry out faster than one in a hardtop. It's exposed to the elements more often. You need to treat it with conditioner and cleaner more frequently than other cars.
About the 'burning your ass' statement. What do you expect black leather to do when it is out baking in the sun? To bring refreshment?
Maybe it's time for you to sell the car and get into something else you will enjoy.

I don't need to explain to you why I have a ragtop.
The ratshlt leather on the car is very cheap, you must have more time to spend trying to keep it nice. I don't, plus the car is now dented up so I don't care anymore, it's a beater.
I have owned several Miata's before this. Mazda used a very nice durable material. It was never too hot in the summer after leaving the top down or too cold in the winter (mind you this is So Cal so it never gets too cold). Hence my comment on burning my ass, is this a simple enough explanation for you.
I have something else, the truck and 997, thanks for your concern. Next time I need advice I know who to turn too

You live in the nations convection oven, with hotter temps than we endure in SoCal and you agree, okay
