What audio upgrades have you done?
The stock S2000 audio system doesn't cut it for me. No big deal...after all, we didn't buy this car for the sound system. Nonetheless, nothing rocks more than listening to Nightwish or Absu while cruising (yeah, I like weird metal bands). Since I'm still learning the car and have no interest in the short term in mods, my first upgrade will probably be to the sound system.
What sound system upgrades have you done and what hardware do you recommend?

I put in a Panasonic deck and a Phoenix Gold amp, mids, tweets, and a 12-inch sub in a custom enclosure that fills up the hole in the trunk. I also have an MP3 player with 5 gig capaciy mounted in the trunk. Not much space left in the trunk but I have no problem hearing my music now!

Oh and I just have an aftermarket CD deck and replacement speakers. I don't want to go all out on audio since I can't hear anything because of my exhaust anyway. You are welcome to hear it sometime if you want. (both the audio and the exhaust)

So now I have a Clock in the car =)
Next month my Speaker Upgrade should be installed, 6,5" Amega Kit. I will not go with any sub in the trunk, just dont wanna loose the space

Blomm-S2k's idea of forgetting about a sub altogether might make sense for some people. Sure, a sub can be made to sound great in any car if it is installed and tuned properly but the S2k is so compact. The logistical problems might outweigh the benefits.
Questions for Blomm-S2k:
1. I've never heard of Amega Kit. Is that brand available here or in Europe only? What do you like about them?
2. Are you going to power the Amegas directly from the Rockford Fosgate head unit?
Questions for anybody out there:
1. What's the clearest, loudest, deepest and most efficient component set that will fit in the S2000 doors without any cutting?
2. For component sets, are crossovers generally placed in the doors or elsewhere?
3. For those who want to keep the stock head unit and just upgrade the existing speakers, is there any place in the front of the car to sneak a compact, powerful outboard 2 channel amp (without any cutting of course)?

Sony 1621s in the front
Kenwood 5 1/4 in the rear from Lucid
JL Audio Microsub in the trunk
Stock Headunit & Alpine CD Changer driven by an Alpine MRV-T320 amp (4x75W, 1x120W).
Sounds good too me. Takes up virtually no usable space, except maybe half the well for the sub. I can make my music loud enough to be heard clearly at 80+ MPH with the top down.
The easiest way to upgrade is to get a set of Lucid's rear panels. He has a harness and the install is cake. It helps so much its scary. An aftermarket headunit would probably be a good upgrade too. Several people sell headunits with a device called a PAC to adapt them to work with the dash controls.

Nice setup. I am curious how much of the bass is muffled? I am thinking about the same type of setup with the sub in the storage well. Just curious if it sounds good.
