No, the ignorance has run rampid in this thread.
You guys jumped my ass this morning because I wanted to know why people have been buying S2000s to drag race. You guys flipped assuming that I was not asking but telling this guy "WTF are you doing, you can't use your car for that!". If I wanted to drag a car, I would look for one that was easily modable and capable of putting down large amounts of torque, not a torqueless 4-cylinder.
If you want to go run a few times to see your time, fine. No prob, best of luck. But if you bought an S2000 to take to the drag strip every weekend I have to ask "why?" because there are many other cars which are better to do that with than an S2000.
I sincerely appoligize for ever opening my mouth. I appoligize to s2kboii. I also appoligize to S2Kboii for some of these people.
darkfx, your age is showing. Those kind of comments are not needed nor are welcome here.

Now let's get the thread back on track. That goes for the others who are still taking shots at MulderATO as well.

Don't F1 cars all have very advanced traction control systems that harness the 900 or whatever hp off the line? I don't think most F1 drivers could even manually feather the clutch and modulate the gas with 900 hp and no weight off the line.
But hey, I used to drag race all the time until I found autocross.

launching is a part of many kinds of racing, including those that require turning.

Rules change, but currently they have launch control, yes. But F1 drivers could easily manipulate a manual launch -- back in the 80s, they had 1000hp turbocharged 1.5L motors. No launch control then Just a traditional H-stick, and a clutch.

Here, let me tell you why. It is because when you are at a stop light and I ask ypu if you wanna run. What are you going to say? " hey, follow me to the road trak and see if you can stay up" WTF. No you are not going to say that, if you did I would kick you in the nuts. i see you have a S/C so Im sure you think you have a fast car, right? You would try to race me and I would play with you . Let you think you might have a chance. Then I would wave and let you hear the "sound" of a drag s2k. Have you ever felt 30lbs of boost? Oh, no you havent. You have a S/C

^^ I agree with you. Thats what Wisconsin and I talked about. I've seen plenty of posts too on the subject. I enjoy autoxing and spirited runs all of the time myself. I wasn't directing the comment at you eigther, I was agreeing. I really don't care what people do with thier cars. A car is nothing more than plastic, metal, and oil. Maybe I was looking for a logical explanation that no one here was prepaired or able to give. To me it just seemed like the wrong tool for the job, but I've never felt 30lbs of boost so what the he** do I know .
