Wes,

It looks like time to clean your air filter.

Was waiting for someone to say that. I actually JUST had the dealership clean it, and it looks dirtier than before I asked them to clean it. I assumed it is the oil, any thoughts? It was blue when I asked them to clean it, had one dirt spot where it seems most of the air comes in...now the whole thing looks dirty. Is it possible that it's just oily??

I have the same filter and cleaned and oiled it last night....I'm betting they did a really half assed job or who ever put the filter back in had really dirty hands...

Hmmm, the car goes in to have the exhaust installed this Friday, I'm going to make them redo it.

MG Racing exhaust, bought it used (50 miles) from another member on here - his wife thought it was too loud.

Wes,

Make sure they are using filter cleaner and not something else. I just cleaned the one in my race car this weekend. It was SUPER dirty that I had to clean it twice, and it looks almost as good as new.

Mike, what is supposed to be used to clean it? Anything that you recommend?

Uni Filter makes their own filter cleaner. I've heard that K&N filter cleaner works just as well. I tried Formula 409 before but it didn't work as well as the proper stuff. Stay away from gasoline or any type of solvent because it will damage the filter.
