We need to petition Honda to continue making F22c engines while we can
Guys I'm not the best one to spearhead this, but, its starting to become an issue if you want a new engine, and if no one else pipes up I guess I will. Maybe it doesn't concern you, but you can't get a new f20c shortblock anymore, Honda decided to pack up its toys and go home. All of us ap1 guys are going to eventually be in a really rough spot when we get up in mileage and theres no more engines. It doesn't have to be that way for the ap2 F22c, if we starts a petition, get enough signatures, Honda has to give us an answer, or at least a promise to continue building engines in to the future. The S2000 is a classic, its meant to be driven, lets not let Honda leave us out in the cold.
If anyone has any experience in setting up petitions, etc, please post up. We need to tackle this before its too late, and we're all screwed.

They are already gone. Not only are they not being made, and never will be again, there is no inventory left.
All things must pass.

These engines aren't easy to rebuild. A new shortblock was only like $3ksomething, so was usually better to just buy a new shortblock, or used block, if there was any cyl wall damage.

I doubt it. I got my hands on one about a year ago from a local Honda dealer. It took almost a year to get and they had to represent to Honda that it was a critical need. I think you will find others on here have found it very difficult to get their hands on short blocks for the past couple of years.

whens the last time anyone really wanted to pay the full Honda price for one... like what motivation would they have to stock these, there in the business of making and selling cars not so much old parts for an ageing and discontinued car.

Not everyone is poor. 6-7k for a complete motor is pennies. Especially if you can get a shortblock at the orig price of 2k, hell even at the current price of 4200 it aint bad at all.
