I would still like to know if anyone tells their insurance company that the car isn't theirs and it's your parents and you not the primary driver. or a similar situtation? How much it costs?

Does anyone have a car in their parents name in any way and how much cheaper does it make your payments.

In your case, the best advice was to put your deductible as high as you or your bank can withstand. But this might backfire on you if you ever need to make a claim. For years, even as an adult, I had BIG deductibles just to keep the insurance costs manageable. But then, I could afford to cough up with the money had anything happened.

Man, I can't wait to move from here... we have some of the highest insurance rates in florida because all the old people drive like idiots. When i move from west palm beach to orlando to go to college there is supposed to be a 1/4 drop of my insurance rate.

My car is under my parents name but I am still covered. I also I have an alarm installed and told them that it is garaged every night. I also took defensive driving to clear a ticket and it turns out that the insurance will discount your premium a little for three years if you show them a certificate that you took defensive driving. Well it all turns out that the premium is $69 a month for full coverage.

I will be paying the insurance and payments, so if i get in the accident it will only hurt my payments. It's like I'm paying my premium in their name(only to make it cheaper).
