Default Water Valve lid F'd up my car.

Heading home from work the Tuesday a water valve in the road had it's lid installed up side down. When I went over it, it kicked up and hit my oil pan, exhaust, and rear support brace. It also gaulged the front subframe "jack point?".

I pulled right over to make sure everything was okay. It was getting dark out but everything looked fine. No oil was leaking.

Today (saturday) I go out to sweep my garage out and find a very small puddle of oil. I jacked the car up to find my oil pan has numerous hair line cracks and is leaking oil.

So now I need to replace my Oil pan. Does anyone know the best place to find one? I need one fast, and I need one cheap. Any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance!!!

Ryan

Their all over the place especially near fire hydrants. In the road they are flush with the pavement unless the lid is upside down.

or see if it can be claimed under comprehensive on your insurance. Should be a low deductible and won't raise your rates.

Yep, I tried, thye said it's a collision. Trust me I was pissed! I plan to talk to someone at the county, but to be honest, I'm not hopeful.

If your car is not lowered from factory height, you might have a chance at the city covering it. YMMV from location to location. Some areas will only be responsible if street hazard was previously reported. Contact the entity responsible for maintenance of that road/street.

My car is lowered on KW V.3's. I'm not slammed to the ground by I am low. I really don't have any faith in the County helping with the costs, but I'll give a half-assed effort in hasseling them about it.
