The end of the tale:

Talked to a guy at a very good local tire shop that supposedly had a line on a racing machine shop that could possibly shave my wheels. However, he basically thought the same as RT and sparky and few others on this thread that I should just demand wheels with the correct offset. He never even said if the shop would shave wheels or not.

I came home and called Dazz Motor Sports (distributor of Racing Harts) and just pretended I needed information on wheels for my car. He told me I needed +51mm offset (remember now, honda dealer guy said they told him +45mm) with 225/40-18s, 255/35-18s. These are special order and not in stock. I tried to get him to tell me the highest offset Dazz had in stock for my wheel and he would not do it ! Said nothing below +50mm would work.

After this, I am off to the dealer tomorrow to demand new wheels with the correct offset.

Keep in mind that for some wheels, going too positive (even if matching the S2000 OEM spec) may not work because of the design of the inside of the spokes - it may not clear the calipers.

Rocketman, you're saying that you have 18x7.5 w/ +45 offset and 18x8.5 w/ +45 offset? I could see the ones in the front being alright, but the offset in the back is way too low. You should have at least a +55 on a 8.5" wide wheel in the back. Is it the back where you are rubbing? I was looking to do 19" C5's. They told me to go with 19x7.5's w/ +44 in the front and 19x8's w/ +50 in the rear. They said they only had the 19x8.5's in a +44 offset and it wouldn't work. Keep in mind that a 18 w/ 255/35 tires is very similar to a 19 w/ 255/30 tires. I'm still not sure if I'm going to go with 18's or 19's. I wanted 8.5's in the back, but I can't do that because Racing Hart doesn't make the right offset. I have 18" Volks, but they're off my 99 Prelude and are only 7.5" wide for all four.

Hey, does anybody know what offsets the Workmeisters come in? RM Racing sells them in 18x8's and 18x9's right?

I dunno dude, if I were you I'd make the dealership set you up with the right offsets. Send the wheels back, don't get your fenders rolled. C2's are great looking rims, but Racing Hart needs to design them to fit cars like ours, offsets under 50 just don't work too well.

Hey, if the fronts rubbing you could always go with lower profile tires. Maybe 225/35/18 or 235/35/18's. Definately send the rear wheels back though.
