I dont owe anything on the Civic Si.
I will upgrade to the S2000, it's just a matter of if I'd be better off doing it now or waiting till next year. Also, I'm trying to decide on new vs used S2000. I want to stay with either an '06 or '07.
Why'd I buy the Si? I'm asking myself the same question. I narrowed my selections down to the car of my dreams & a more affordable fun car. I'm 47 years old, owned several Hondas & had never paid more than $15k for a car. So, I guess I chickened out & went practical

the civic is definitely more practical and easy to live with, but you'll love the S2000 like you could never love the civic. i had both at the same time, and i can say that i don't regret going back to my S2000.

..then I guess you really dont need financial advice on anything. I went without a daily driver for a while and it was really tough for obvious reasons. 30+ thousand for a car that's not very practical at all is a very tough choice indeed. Well, good luck on your decision. I still think you should trade it now, though there's that little nudge you needed.

Unless you put a $8000 down payment on the Si, you're gonna be totally upside down.

Life's short. Do what you have to do.

On the other hand, you got into this mess by making an overly hasty decision....

how would he be upside down, he said the car is paid off which means he prolly jsut bout it outright, so he would end up loosing a few grand, if he doesnt care about money then id go for it, only b/c he bought the civic si in cash

Oh! My bad, I didn't catch the part where he said it was paid off.

But still, he'd be losing a lot of money if he tried to sell it outright, but then again, since the miles are so low, he might be able to sell it kind of high incase someone wants a near-new one and save a few bucks.

If you sell it, make sure you emphasize that there is no sales tax!

yea if he trades it in he gets a tax credit on w/e the trade in is, so he would only pay tax on w/e is left to be apyed on the s2k after the trade in

True, I guess he just has to check both routes to see if he is better off selling it outright or paying less in tax.
