Default Want to buy a S2000

Hello everyone I found this 2004 S2k white/tan with 83K miles asking 13K for it. Carfax says it has been in a accident a month ago. I was wondering if the price fair? would you recommend getting a S2000 with 83K miles as a daily? I know it is a Honda and it should last a long time but I don't know much about these engine in the S2000. Could you give me some tips pointer when I go to check out the car? Anything would help a lot. Thank you guys anything would help and I will do a search here on the forums also.

Hi and welcome to S2ki. Because every car is different, it's tough for us to give you advice. But you can take confidence in the fact that the engine in this car is pretty damn durable and short of any catastrophic mechanical over-revs, the engine SHOULD be in good shape. I highly recommend you check out this thread: What to look for when buying a used S2000

Take note of thing highlighted in red, especially the compression and lead down test. How bad was the accident?

Is the title clean or is it a rebuilt title?

I would try and stay away from one that has been in an accident. That's just my opinion.

Selling it a month after an accident sounds like a red flag to me. While its getting harder to find clean S2000, they are out there!

I was pretty envious of my friend's super cheap salvage S2000, until I had to work on it. Simple repair tasks became a huge pain.

We really need a separate forum for these kind of questions already
