i have a 2002 s2k with 7,000 miles on it and just recently my car has been making a weired mechanical sound at around 8500 rpm....is this normal? it never acted like this before...my car is bone stock....please help me

Need more info...what does it sound like? A "mechanical sound" can sound like anything...

I sure your talking about the ringing noise that comes on when the vtec is engaged. Several people (if not all) have this noise and there is no real explanation too this noise. If it's not a ringing type noise than disregard what I just said.

it is a ringing sound....kinda sounds like a piece of thin metal shaking or vibrating viorously towards the end of vtec......i never had this problem before...just happened to me today.... could it be all this rain in so cal? is there any solution or does everyone else have this problem?

I have it.
Top down usually makes it go away.

No one wants to adjust my valves, everyone including the dealer, says that the sound is normal.
I said that I don't care and I want them to check it anyway.

I think they are just afraid.
