VTEC controller good idea or bad idea?
Is it bad for the engine or any other part of the car to lower the VTEC engagement from 6,000 to say 5,500 or even 5,000? How does it work. How much do they cost and where would I be able to get one? Also where would I be able to find out more information about VTEC controllers? Thanks

The VTEC signal is just an electrical signal to a solenoid that releases oil pressure to slid pins to engage VTEC.
The V-AFC is the most popular VTEC controller for the S2000. It lets you set the engage and disengage point in 100 rpm increments.
You can set VTEC engagement to whatever you like, but keep in mind that it is probably at the optimum point for the stock set up of the car.
One nice thing to do for track days is leave the engage point stock and lower the disengage point. This way you have the optimum set up as you accelerate, but if you back off for a corner the VTEC doesn't drop out and is still engage when you re-open the throttle.
If your car is modded it may benefit from modifying VTEC engagement point. Mine is SC'd and VTEC engages at 4400 and disengages at 4000.
