From what they said, the fastest lap was from the Altezza. (Because he was by him self most of the time)

though the difference can be attributed to driver skills, professional racing results from Japan have shown that the new Type R is one car not to be overlooked on the track (causing the Spoon Sports people to have complex and mixed feelings about their S2000).

UL and co - that guy driving the s2000 in that movie is the "drift king" (Tsushiya) - in no way would I say that he is lacking in skill compared to gansan. - in fact, i would say that he and gansan are the 2 superior reviewers in BM.

FROM BMI
"The legendary 6-in-a-row tail sliding win in the freshman series in an AE86 Corrola in 1984 turned Tsuchiya into the "Drift King" that we all know in Japan. He made the leap into big international races after conquering the Japanese racing scene, even going on the podium at the 1999 Le Mans. The Drift King now races the NSX in the All Japan GT Championships, and his friendly character is loved by Best Motoring fans.

1977 Debuts as a racer
1994 All Japan GT Championship Champion
1995 Le Mans 24 class Champion
Tokachi 24 overall Champion
Suzuka 1000km class Champion
1999 Le Mans24 overall runner up
2000 All Japan GT Championship Champion"

wow, the Drift King was driving the S2000. I've always suspected that the RSX-R was going to be a real challenge to the S2K. I think the NSX should have won with greater ease though.

There is also a difference between a fully prepped race car and a production car. Gansan would seem to have the edge in the latter. Gansan's also the guy that goes out and drives all the cars by himself on the track trying to extract best times, so he had plenty of prep work in the RSX-R - I don't know if the S2000 guy had any seat time in the S2K.

The guy in the S2000 just didn't seem to care where he finished. His lines were wide, his turn in hesitant, etc. I'm sure he's faster than most(all) of us, but there were obvious mistakes. It also seemed like he was shifting up early in some areas, while not downshifting where he should in others. There was one turn, while following the old ITR, where he upshifted to 3rd just before turn in (literally he barely got back on the gas befroe getting out of it for the turn). He then proceeded to slow down through the turn, off the gas, and then accelerated out, still in 3rd. The ITR in front of him actually seemed to pull away at that point. The fact taht most guys set their fast laps on lap 2 (one on lap 3) while the S2K guy took till lap 5 to set his tells me he needed more seat time in the car.

No matter who he was, he didn't look like he was trying as hard as the other guys, especially gansan... His lines were all over the place and his wasn't getting on the gas soon enough...

Ok guys.... let's keep redoing the presidential ellections until Gore wins...

It just goes to show.... It's not the car that wins the race, it's the driver... Can we all agree on that one?
