I've used and seen so many other short shifters (or shift adapter) on my
B-series and H-series motors...but have never heard adding a knob will make
that much of a difference. Isn't the S2000 shifter already short and the throw
distance short already compared to other cars?
I understand the knob sits lower but that just means the shifter is lower but
doesn't not necessary mean that the "throw distance" between gears are shorter,
is it? My buddy heard of this knob and he has one in his Miata and he says it's good but I drove his car....the throw doesn't feel that short to me?

The S -- in stock form has about the shortest shift in production. Between the height and high position of the stock knob and the lowered position of the Voodoo knob, you are knocking about 20% (my estimate) off the distance of this already short throw. Think resting your wrist on the console and flicking the shifter ala the Lotus Europa. That'll give you an idea of the difference.
Anything shorter might lead to imprecise shifting, I think.

I'm trying to decide between the two.

Since it is counter sunk, it does shorten the height of the shift knob resulting in a shorter throw.
The additional weight also helps (titanium vs. aluminum ) in shifting.
I also think the Ti knob stays cooler to the touch in hot weather. Aluminum (stock knob) can be very uncomfortable on hot/sunny day with the top down.
Mine is a polished Ti with the 6 spd. shift pattern, the pattern is painted with 2 coats of black enamel.
Rick ships the engraved knobs with the "mask" left on, so it very easy to paint. Go for the Magnum Ti ! You'll love it
After reading S2Kguy's post below, I should mention that I also installed Rick's leather shift boot. It does not get in the way when shifting and it looks way better than the stock boot. Two excellent products from Rick!
If you can't tell ............ I'm very happy with my purchases.

OK, I have an opinion on the subject, I just got my V-Knob about 2 weeks ago.
1. The knob falls almost perfectly into hand (could still be 1/2" shorter for my taste), but because it's lower you feel the shift boot almost all the time. I find my last 2 fingers rest on the boot now when before they didn't, and with every shift the boot is felt (may just be the way I shift).
2. I've hit the E-Brake handle with the back of my hand several times when putting the car into reverse, it's now in direct line, so it's very easy to do.
3. The shift is no shorter at all, only the action of your arm because the knob is lower, and to be perfectly honest I couldn't tell the difference.
4. The knob looks sweet, but the stock knob still looks better to me.
5. I would have liked the color of the spun aluminum to match the color of the interior trim more, but I think the Ti knob does, it's just a lot more expensive.
6. I would have made the knob a little smaller, my hands aren't small, but the knob feels big to me (hey, the Ferrari knobs feel big to me too ok).
The workmanship is flawless, the installation takes 2 seconds, the feel overall is way better than stock even with my nit-picking. Money well spent, thanks Rick.

Oops....might want to recheck that! Throw is shorter by about 1/2". By the way I'll also note that I turned VDB onto this site in hopes of providing his product here. Long call while I was in Kalamazoo MI on business. He lasted all of two threads and was pissed (premature sponsorship BS)! I suggested he hit up Rick (as I did Mark DiGrappa) for possible "umbrella sponsorship". He did......glad to see others here appreciate his work! If you like his work you can email him at www.teamvoodoo.com. .....he does this for fun more then work....so any positive comments keep him and his wife going strong.
