Default VIN code

If I was looking for my honda I discover car which had this VIN number JHMAP11304T200XXX but body like AP2 model. It is Europe market model. Acording the vin code it should be AP1 model . So question is, is it possible AP1 vin code and AP2 car from factory?

Overseas the motor did not change from the F20c to the F22c like it did here in the states. The look of the car stayed the same around the world, but without a change to the power plant, I guess Honda did not change the model code around the world, just in north America where the power plant was changed

Honda in Europe kept the chassis as AP1 despite the change to avoid recertification costs, so go by the year code in the VIN, or look at the production date on the door jamb.

Doubtful that the car was imported from Europe. People do "upgrade" the car to look like an AP2.
Check out the driver side door jamb and check the build date.

Not an import, I think the OP is from Europe.

Thanks - the flooding around my house is affecting my reading comprehension.

It is not import, car is in Europe. Wikipedia says: " The 2004 model year incorporated several revisions to the S2000 and was given the chassis designation of AP2 (note: this designation was never used in the UK although the improvements to the vehicle were applied)", car is not UK market model. Also VIN says that car was manufactured at Honda's Takanezawa plant, AP2 model production moved to the Suzuka plant.
Still unclear.

Go by the year on the VIN. 8th digit from the end. JHMAP11304T200XXX shows it's a 2004 MY.

This is right
After some browsing I get solution. Honda in Europe marked VIN AP1, but it is AP2 chassis.
