Suggest to the dealer that the remotes need to be reprogrammed to the car. It is an easy process but the dealer needs to do it. Have them call techline if they have a problem.
Keep in mind that the remotes that came with the car have the drawing of the trunk on the trunk button.
If you bought the Honda alarm you got a different set of remotes that have "option" on the trunk button.
Sometimes the dealer mixes them up and the remotes that came with the car will unlock the doors but won't turn off the alarm.

I strongly agree with 2Kturkey, Honda remotes categorically do not suck.
Mine works so far from the car that I haven't yet found enough space here in overpopulated New Jersey to test out the maximum range of the remote!

fuse was ok... by the way, bought the car in Oct 99, so 28k miles later I pretty much know which remote to use I did try the original remotes (with the trunk picture) but either they were never programed or they will not work either. The lights do light on all 4 and I replaced the battery in one of them. I will call the dealer as soon as I can.

well it just got stranger... it started working! walked up to the car in the garage, it was locked (which was strange since I had been in it this am an left it unlocked in the garage... in any case it has worked all night long. I have already had it to the dealer once when the trunk would not open (no click or anything), At that time, it would at least unlock the doors... guess I will see what they have to say. By the way it was no problem found on the trunk before. Thanks for all the replies.
