? on varying RPM during break-in.
I've had my S2K for almost a month now. It has just about 2200 miles on it and I was curious about something...
-How many miles are required to vary the rpm during the break-in period?
It doesn't state it in the owners manual to my knowledge as I've pretty much read all of it. If it is in there, I'll feel like a dumbass.
It just gets to be a pain to drive sometimes on the freeways while at about every 5 minutes I would either change my speed I'm traveling at or change gears. Plus this effects mileage as well. But I figure after the second oil change or so I should see better mileage as my engine has just about drank a quart of oil so far.
Thanks for all your help guys and gals.

My owner's manual says don't shift it over 5,500 or stay at a steady RPM until you have reached 600 miles. Yours is already broken in, lucky you!
I'm at 502 miles, after having it 9 days. That comes out to about 55 miles per day. I can't stop driving it.

Your break-in is over, VTEC away!! BTW, it is 600 miles (1000 km)... keep checking your oil though - some cars drink a lot, some don't. I have added maybe 1/2 quart in 5200 miles with a lot of hard driving and VTECing.

Oh cool then. So it does mention that in the manual afterall? DOH!!! I guess I have nothing to worry about now then. Thanks, I can't believe I would have missed seeing that in the manual.
Thanks for the info J.B. Now I'll proceed to feel like a dumbass. Lol...
