i'm getting my valves adjusted tomorrow for $115 at capital city honda, i have 33,000 miles on my car........they said its the 1st one they are ever going to do on an s2000 hmmmm makes me wonder.....i was wondering if there are any things to check prior to doing this like spark plugs or anything, or does honda check it for u? any suggestions? thanx alot fellow s2ker's

how far of a drive is it to the dealer? if you are going to be doing any kind of driving tomorrow prior to you should consider dropping you car off tonight...the engine needs to be totally cooled down in order for them to do the best job they can.

I'd be REALLY nervious getting a valve adjustment done at a Honda dealership that's never done one before!

- I have ~7,600 miles on my car and it SOUNDS (pretty loud) like I need mine adjusted...

*STOP* *TIME OUT*

Sounds like your headed into the eye of a storm here.

1. Taking it to a dealer who admits he hasn't done an S yet.
2. They didn't even advise you to bring it in advance to ensure the motor is cold. As mentioned, the night before is the best. This is common practice for valve adjustments. Even IF it is their first S, they should have told you this much.


There MUST me a better option for you up there.

Check with Brant or VtecMom for a hook-up. Don't go to an inexperienced service dept or shop. You're just begging for trouble!

oh..........they told me that they need about 3-4 hours to let it cool down........they said drop it off at 1:00pm done by 4 or 5:00pm

That's what the service desk told me, but when I took it in the tech said differently.....in order for you to get the most out of it drop it off tonight.
