You could, I would never lower the vtec that low...maybe going down to 5500 would work or maybe 5000. 3000 would be way to low. I have one in my gsr powered crx and installe done in my buddies 00 SI. The problem with the VAFC and lowering the vtec that low is that it takes alot of tuning to get the car to pull clean from the lower vtec point to the original. Have to really play with the fuel to get it right, not just as easy to just lower the vtec point. For warranty purposes, I would not install on eon my car. You could very easily blow up a motor with a VAFC if you aren't careful.

If you lower VTEC engagement below 5600 RPMS you will loose power overall. When lowered below 5600 the VTEC transition takes much longer and still does not pull like normal until about 5600 RPMS.
