V8 in a S2K?
#21
As I said, driving it on the limit...
I have an LS400 that has over 300+tq so low down the car rarely shifts at over 2k rpms unless I'm trying to go fast. I appreciate torque for daily driving as much as anyone else. However, get on a tight, winding back road in a C5. In the s2k you are pushing the car to go faster and faster, whereas in the C5 you are just trying to control it. Anyone can argue anything, but to me this is extremely evident.
Like I said, it's the style of the car.
As for fast cars, my 1200cc sportbike ran a 10.9 at 126 last weekend, without even launching [2.0 60ft vs 1.6 60ft with a launch], I know fast in all sorts of ways.
But just like the s2k vs c5, my literbike is not very fun on tight roads. It is not siginificantly heavier [to me] than a 600cc, about 70lbs heavier, but the large output down low takes away from its driveability on many roads.
Bottom line, the s2k does what it is designed to do very well, that's all I could ever ask out of a car.

Try a Lingenfelter Vette,twin-turbo LS-7 427c.i. and 725 H.P.good for 136 mph in the quarter.
You'll like it.
There's no replacement for cubic inches.!!!

Keep in mind that the OP is not trying to compare a Vette to an S2000, they are completely different beasts (having previously owned a C5 Vette I would know). It would take a bit of work to make the engine fit, but in the end the car would fly, not to mention having a TON more torque than an FI F20C. I would not personally do it because I bought the S2000 for what it is and I'm going from there, but I think that anything that pushes the industry into new territory will eventually help out all of us so best of luck to whoever is doing (or planning on doing) a V8 swap.

Has anybody else seen this? http://www.radicalmotorsport.com/ne...eruns/index.php Page with sound files of the engine
it's a siamesed pair of suzuki motorcycle engines that create a 2.0 liter V8 that makes 380 BHP and 200 lb ft at 10,500 rpm. weighs about 200 lbs and fits in a 2x2 ft box. they have quaife working on various transmissions to go with it and they are hoping to make it a streetable motor.
This is the powertec motor. Be kick ass in an S

Although this is not an S2k, this just shows the power in the ls1. this is my good friends FC rx7 with ls1 swap, cam, long tubes, nitrous. http://www.indyhpmedia.com/index.php?dir=v...s600andBusa.wmv
