Default V1 owners.......I need your help!

I'm buying the V1 detector and need to know which accessories to get in order to have it "hardwired" to either the stereo head unit or to the ignition.

Does the original unit come with the necessary wiring or do I need to buy the extra cables?........

It looks as if everything I need is included.... I would hope so for $400+

Thanks for the help....

All you need is a standard phone cord... you probably have one lying around your house...

All you need is the female plug from Radio Shack to slip onto the fuse box connection. Do a search and you should find a great thread with pic's and the part #. I don't recall the # but it is a pretty common connector. Everything else you need is in the box. Took very little time to do the job.

i ordered mine from that site and it came with everything it lists.

i have mine mounted adjacent to the rear view mirror and ran the cord along the windshield, and under the dash and had to zip tie the additional cable near the fuses.

props on installing the right way! i hate seeing people that just plug it into the cigarette lighter and leave the cord in the open.

Wired mine into the interior lights beside the mirror. Why bother with long runs?

Steve,
Does wiring it to the interior lights turn the unit on when you turn the ignition? I don't get it. Unless the wires to the interior lights are always running hot. If so........hmmmmm I may consider doing that.

Thanks.

It has to be hot 24/7 because with the key out/door open the light still comes on. I think having it ignition controlled is worth the extra 3 minutes of time to wire it to the fuse panel.

edit: Actually it probably takes LESS time to wire it to the fuse panel. Now that I think about it.
