You clearly understand the concept of reputation and customer service and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your efforts. It's truly refreshing to find a private seller so willing to put himself on the line.

Its the least I can do. I have been on the bad end of a sale before because the seller gave me nothing but a cold shoulder. I have sold many items on this board and have never had an issue. Again, please let me know what the UPS inspector says.

i had a claim with dhl on a fiberglass hood a few yrs back. i sold it on ebay for a friend and we bubble wrapped and carboarded the hell out of it. it arrived cracked and broken. it took 2 months, but they took the blame and gave me back the money for shipping and for the value of the item. be persistant and you will get your money back. good luck.

That's just it--if they deny the claim the first time around that isn't the end-all be-all. You can write letters to the corporate office in an attempt to get the denial reversed.

yup, corporate likes to satisfy its customers. it is cheaper to keep an existing customer than to obtain a new one....true story.
Do I detect a hint of sarcasim in that statement?

no i was being serious. i learned that in marketing class way back when. it is cheaper to keep an existing customer then to obtain a new one. obtaining a new customer requires marketing and advertising. keeping an existing customer just requires keeping him or her happy with your service.

Most companies will try to take the easy way out of paying at first . . . but most will fold if you have a legitimate case and stick to your guns. Sometimes its a bigger headache than its worth though, depends on how big your claim compared to how much your time is worth to you.

UPS is picking up the diff in its original packaging tomorrow. Justin, you'll receive a confirmation from them once they've done so. More updates to come ...

Sounds good. They are actually picking it up from you, or coming to look at it?
